Marketing Missing

While walking home from a big business meeting tonight, I noticed some fliers posted on some of the telephone poles.

They said “MISSING” in large letters on top of them with the words “A Village That Would Raise A Child” in centered smaller letters. Then at the bottom perpendicular to the other text, a link to a website had been repeated several times and cut so that you could easily take the url with you.
I grabbed a tab, http://blog.myspace.com/projectmissing
was the url.
Apparently it’s some art project although I’m not entirely sure where the artist is going with it.

It did get me to thinking. I should make some more marketing materials for MoHDI.

I think I’ll start doodling some ideas down in my sketchbook. There is no reason why I shouldn’t have a variety of marketing materials on me at all times.

the ‘leavers’ text makes me think that it may have something to do with daniel quinn’s ‘ishmael’

This project is designed to bring attention to certain aspects of contemporary life that have strayed away from what is important. In the hype of consumption and living the ‘right’ life, we often forget about what is important, and that is compassion for everything that lives beside us. Whether it is the destruction of wildlife and it’s habitat, or the neighbor down the street who doesn’t care where their child is at night, we try to ignore these things to keep ourselves content. These are the things that influence our future generations. I’m am just posting the things that I always think about, that I think needs to be shared with others. These are ideas to maybe get people think about what they mean.

And yes, the ‘leavers’ is from Ishmael, only the concept of what a leaver is as opposed to a taker, not at all a promotion of the book. However, I do think it is a read for everyone.
