My latest art project is pulling in the money quite literally. I’m currently doing a series of pieces on dollar bills. Not only is this a fun art project to work on but so far I’ve sold almost half of the pieces I’ve created making this a brilliant hundred dollar idea, I’ve sold 5 of the 11 pieces I’ve created thus elevating my professional credentials as an artist. It’s rather exciting.
If you are interesting in purchasing one of the dollars from this series please contact me. Right now the 6 bills in the above photo are for sale. I will consider shipping although please understand, I’m horrible at shipping and also lose money and time when shipping. I would much rather you meet me when I’m out at some coffee shop or something.
My friend Ashley had the most brilliant of ideas. She organized and is throwing a good old fashion letter writing party.
Basically a bunch of people are going to get together and write letters. Since I’m pretty horrible about writing letters this is going to be a good opportunity to get some letter writing practice in. The party is set for Wednesday, July 22. So I’m collecting addresses from folks. If you would like to receive a fantastic letter from me, please email me ( drew at mohdi dot com) your mailing address. Chances are you will get a nice little surprise in the mail. (more…)

ON Gallery opens in the Everett Station Lofts with “Departure”:
illustration, large format videography and video conference by artist
Drew Anderson.
About “Departure”
Oregon artist Drew Anderson shows a vast body of his work in his
Departure show. A long time resident, Drew has shown throughout
Portland for the past decade. Here we showcase a variety of his recent
work, from intricate weaves of ink on both paper and antique cabinet
cards, to original block cuts.
A new series entitled Buy My Sketchbook
(http://www.buymysketchbook.com), which has recently been on display
in London and Tokyo, will be viewed as a large-scale projection.
Despite his recent move to Brooklyn NY, the artist will be present
virtually via video conference, and ready to answer any questions.
This show will be an exciting exploration of imagination and whimsy,
and may be the last we see of this artist for some time.

Lillian had a great idea last week. We saw a car drive by with something that resembled a hat. She thought it was rather funny and that cars could have all sorts of accessories to help us humans relate a bit more to our cars while showing that we as individuals can demonstrate our uniqueness by adding a selection of items to our vehicles.
Personally I think that most modes of transportation would be a lot more fun with the addition of a tail. Perhaps the tail could be an extension of the exhaust pipe or could possibly have brake lights in it.
Adding accessories to your car might also make your car feel better and if cars are anything like humans, when they are happy, they tend to get better gas mileage.

My friend Dan from the other side of the globe had a wonderful idea that is all about the people behind the pictures on flickr. He has launched interviewr.net to dive into details about people on flickr.
I was honored to be the first person interviewed on the site and I thought it might be fun to share this with you. It’s was fun doing the interview and I look forward to seeing more interview on the site. There are a ton of people on flickr that I would just love to learn more about.
I’ll be keeping my eye on the site and hope you will too.
