Group Therapy.

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Group Therapy is an idea to help people get feedback on what they are doing.
Here’s how it works.

People will gather.
The current person sharing will then get 3 minutes to share with others what they might need feedback on, then the others in the group will each have 30 seconds to provide feedback if they choose.

That’s pretty much how it works. The meetings will be open to anyone who cares to join and as a whole the group can make decisions about the format of the meeting.

I see this being a forum where people can get feedback on anything they might want. It could be business, art, social or life in general. Ideally the more diverse the group is the more useful the feedback will be.

This idea is designed to define itself with time.

The informal inaugural meeting will be 12:01 PM, Tuesday, January 19th at the Ace Hotel in NYC.
Please join us if you would like to get or give feedback on any number of topics.

There will be a Portland, Oregon meeting in the next week or so.

This is not a forum to solicit your wares. Also despite the name, this is not the place to work out your mental issues, matter of fact is that some feedback might be rather critical and you should be prepared for a little criticism. Also since this is a public forum you should probably not share any deep secrets.

Uh.. I guess that’s it for now.. Like I said, this project is self defining. I hope that you will be a part of it’s development.

Attention Fred Meyer Shoppers!

Fred Update

I went to Fred Meyer today to check on the status of the MoHDI Rewards Program. The program is basically a way that MoHDI can get 1% back on a collective of shoppers. The more shoppers the more money. Collectively we have acquired 896 points at Freddies since the program started. That means if they cut rebate checks today the MoHDI rewards program would get a nice gift card for $8.96! That’s enough for a pretty fun party.
I want to thank everyone that is using the bar code sticker that I made or typing in 4444444444 as the alternate id when shopping at Freds. We are well on our way to having a fantastic party.
According to the receipt we still have till October 27th to gather more points. I’m planning on doing some major marketing pushes for the campaign in the next few weeks. I’ve even considered taking a day or two off work and sitting in front of the store and canvasing shoppers as they enter.

We still have 26 days left before the end of the cycle, so keep up the good work. Feel free to spread the word too. I’m imagining the rewards party will take place sometime in November when they actually send out the Rewards.

Please keep spreading the word! If you would like a bar code sticker please let me know. Remember you can always use 4444444444 if you do not have the MoHDI reward bar code. Every time you shop using the bar code you will see a points count at the bottom of the receipt to see the progress of this idea.

Mustache Registry

Mustache Registery

First Thursday in NW Portland is the time art galleries welcome the crowds to visit newly hung shows.
While walking around the PAC at first Thursday I nearly bumped into a gentleman with an impressive mustache. At first I didn’t think much of it, then it registered that not only does this man have a mustache but it was deserving of a compliment. He was quick on the draw and complimented my mustache before I had a chance to speak. I returned the compliment then we started talking as you might imagine two strangers with mustaches would. Somehow in our conversation the idea of a mustache registry hit me and we both agreed this indeed was a wonderful idea.
If you’re reading this and you live in Portland you might understand the beauty of this idea as mustaches are very popular right now. If you’re not from Portland, take my word when I tell you that mustaches in Portland are very popular.

So when I got home I purchased the domain www.MustacheRegistry.com in order to develop this idea more.
I’m open for ideas about how the site should work and operate. If you have a mustache, live in Portland and would like to be on the board of directors for this project please don’t hesitate to contact me.

MoHDI Tattoo

I thought Jimmy the owner of Beullahland was going to explode on me last night when he saw I was stamping all his matchbooks with the MoHDI stamp. I was very fortunate that Jimmy was as tolorant as he was and didn’t throw me out on my ear. I do love that bar and don’t know of any other place in town I can smoke cigarettes, drink Stumptown coffee and sketch out ideas that late at night. I held off on telling Jimmy Carol’s idea of replacing his pint glasses with sippy cups at the bar. Apperently business owners might not like the idea of another business hijacking their matchbooks for advertising. I think I’ll check with Jimmy before I start stamping the toilet paper.
Khris and I met tonight for our weekly MoHDI business meeting. MoHDI sure can require a lot of work. I do hope that after Khris gets back from Australia for his Mostlandia project we will be able to dedicate full time to MoHDI stuff. There are so many fantastic projects going on, we are really looking forward to being able to spend more time working on them. One of the basic ideas behind MoHDI is that “Things get done when the get done.” And we have been working hard behind the scenes to deliver some amazing products, services and ideas, it just takes some time.
Mary challenged us a while ago to some sort of idea competiotion and Paul has a very slow game of tennis going with us and we have not had time to illustrate several of Carols wonderful underwear ideas. Everyday we keep getting more fantastic ideas that we can not share with you fast enough. The forums are growing slowly and we even have some people on our newsletter.
The ideas come easy blogging about them seems to be the hard part.
In the very near future.
  • We will be playing some sort of exquisite corpse idea game with Mary and perhaps Paul if he cares to join us.
  • We will be returning a serve to Paul’s Hover Keg serve
  • We will be finishing up the shopping cart and actually have our products and services ready to start making us hundreds of dollars
  • We will be planning a super MoHDI, Mary and Inventor party. Khris will be in Oz. Save the date Oct 21st is going to be a big day for inventors in Portland… It so happens a tv show “Everyday Edisons” is planning to do casting the same day we decided to throw our party.
  • We hope to be working with Jeff and Laura on a fun little venture soon.
  • Getting more ideas from the sketch book to the site
  • Sitting around thinking up ideas while streams of income pour in.

For some reason we are still Hundredaires and MoHDI doesn’t pay any of the bills yet. I guess it takes more than a couple months to make it in this business.
Our best is yet to come!
