I’ve been bouncing the idea around about directly selling some advertising on MoHDI. I feel that MoHDI has reached a point where advertising might not be such a bad idea. I’m confident that I can offer a great service that would make anyone’s advertising budget smile with glee. By limiting the number of ads I sell and keep the cost ridiculously low I’m pretty sure selling advertising on MoHDI will not be too difficult. Right now I’m pretty set on the idea of selling 6 month blocks of advertising.
I think that if I sell advertising, I’ll probably have more incentive to post more better content more regularly. It will also put some fire under me to promote the site more so that at the end of the 6 month ad cycle, I’ll be getting some repeat business.
Advertising is also a great way for me to help get the doors of Art Buy the Inch open. Since I’m feeling a bit of a crunch to make that happen. This is going to be a great way to do it.
Here are the basic steps I’ll take to directly sell advertising on this blog.
1. I’ll bounce the idea off some people I think would be interested in buying ad space.
2. I’ll try to sell some ad space to get started and start developing how the ads will work on mohdi.
3. I’ll put together a advertising packet or page that will explain what the buyer would get.
4. I’ll start selling.
5. I’ll eat a half gallon of ice cream when all 6 month slots have sold.

Oh yeah… How much do you think 6 months of advertising on MoHDI is worth? Let’s say for a picture ad placed in the top of the sidebar about 195×115 in size? (that’s the same size as the “Click Me” ad on the sidebar now )
