Art Buy the Inch News
After seeing some progress finally being made on the Art Buy the Inch gallery space, I’m feeling an immense pressure to get the doors open as soon as possible. I realize that in order to do that I’m going to need a little more financing than I currently have. The solution to the financing of the gallery conundrum is not far off. I’ve set my mind to get this space open as soon as possible. With my recent move and a whole lot of other things going on it’s been difficult to have much time making things happen with the gallery space, MoHDI, the Mustache Registry and a bunch of other projects that I constantly have going.
I’m looking for 10k of financing to get the doors open plus another 20k for a good 6th months of operations costs. Realistically this is not a lot of money and is attainable. The big question is how soon can I gather this money and how do I actually go about it.
I have several ideas about this and I’m sure I’ll be using several tactics for achieving my goals. Here is a brief list of some of the ideas.

  • Selling artwork (currently doing)
  • Selling shares of the business
  • Selling Subscriptions to art
  • Sell block prints ( click here)
  • BuyMySketchbook
  • Asking people for money
  • Finding investors
  • 100 friends 100 dollars
  • Pre-sales
  • Monetizing MoHDI and other sites I own

the list goes on and on.
Next week the push is on and the gallery doors will open sooner than you would think.

Just a reminder there is a show up at Olio right now. Several 1″x1″ pieces are on display. We are also constantly looking for new artwork and artists.
And a big thanks goes out to Plywerk for their contributions to the gallery. You should give them a visit at the Saturday Market in Portland.
If you would like to help the gallery out financially feel free to contact me and let me know what you can contribute and what you would like in return. If you would like to help the gallery out in other ways contact me and I can send you a list of things we are currently needing help with.

Art Buy the Inch is certainly taking a lot of time however, it doesn’t stop me from constantly coming up with awesome ideas. I feel it’s important to stay sharp and keep the ideas rolling all the time. Some ideas require a little bit of development before posting on MoHDI and many I have in my sketchbook waiting for the right time to post about them. Some recent ideas of mine really stand out. The MoHDI rewards program is going along well and I plan on having a large campaign launching soon to promote the idea. If you have yet to get a bar code sticker use the 10 digit number 4444444444 when shopping at Fred Meyer if you do not have a rewards card. When the Rewards campaign is fleshed out enough, you will certainly hear about it.
The Adventure Social Klub. Is another brilliant idea that you will soon be hearing more details about. Basically it’s a group blind date. Basically 3 single men and 3 single women are matched up and sent on an adventure. It’s a pretty fun idea and I’m looking for participants at this time. If you’re interested drop me a line and give me some info about yourself.
With the recent full page anti meth ads in the weekly papers, I realized that it would be a great idea to come up with a line of make up that is marketed towards meth addicts. It’s unfortunate that they are a growing market.
The big ol’ mural idea was generated when I was creating the graphic for this post. I used a large drawing I did for Dave as the backdrop for me thinking. It was really the first time I could visualize doing a massive wall. It’s awesome being a creative developer, I just wish it would pay more.
I was also thinking this week it would be a great idea to get an intern as I have so many projects and I think that it’d be nice to have some dedicated help from time to time so if you’re interested in a high stressed, no paying fun creative job give me a call.

That’s about if for the updates. I’ll have more for you soon.
