Single and Nerdy in NY? Not for long.

Saturday, December 5th, 2009

Are you single and in NY? Well you don’t have to be single for long. Here are two great events that singles should attend this weekend.

SATURDAY is for the Crafty Single Women:
Attention crafty single babes, based on demographic studies, there is going to be a high concentration of intelligent single men all gathered together at the first annual Brooklyn Comics and Graphics and Lions and Cougars Festival
It’s your chance to see some of your favorite independent comics, go to panel discussions and see awesome presentations as well browse through your pick of choice single men at the festival.
Show up, have some fun and remember this awesome piece of advice…
You should meet your next boyfriend before it gets dark out. (you can’t trust anyone after the Sun goes down)
Brooklyn Comics and Graphics Festival
(I made that up about the lions and cougars)

Sunday is for the Single Man Geek:
Research shows there are going to be a lot of crafty, intelligent and single women at this BUST Holiday Craftactular holiday event. If you haven’t already bought everyone comics for the holidays, why not try pick up some of the hottest holiday gifts you can find at this BUST event. In addition to selecting some some fine hand made crafts, you can attempt at making impressive conversation by busting out some great lines like “Can I craft your phone number?” and “Craft you out on a date?”. I’m pretty sure Women stuck at a table for several hours are going to enjoy talking with single men hunting for a girlfriend at a feminist craft show. It’s probably what the magazine intended when they decided to put on an event like this.

For all those singles who can’t get out this weekend… you can still go to the Meatup on Wednesday….

jake

For the next week I’ll be Jake Bronstein, at least online I will be.
I’ll be running his blog zoomdoggle.com, I’ll be Tweeting his Tweets and I’ll be facing his Facebook.

I might even be going out with his friends and giving away things he owns. So.. keep an eye on Jake.. on me on the internets all this week. It’s going to be more fun than work…. although come to think of it.. for me personally it might be more work than fun… but it’s fun work.. so it’s more fun work than fun.. since in the long run work is more satisfying than fun I should say it’s going to be more satisfying fun than fun. or.. fun is more fun than work so.. the statement more fun than work still applies..

I love the early morning ramblings.. Stay tuned MoHDI is going to be hot this week.

Static Pencil

My latest invention is the static pencil. Basically it’s a pencil that remains in one spot, in order to use the pencil, pen, crayon or drawing tool, you move the canvas below it with your hands. I was thinking some people might not want one consistent line on their paper so, I thought a simple foot pedal would raise and lower the drawing tool. I would imagine the device would allow you to easily swap out your preferred drawing device and would have an adjustable tension on the device in order to press down on what ever canvas you might have.

I believe this invention solves the problem of having your arm block what you are working on while drawing or writing. I also think this invention will prevent pencil and pen thefts. I could see these devices being put in banks and schools. Every child should have access to a static pencil.

Below is a rapid prototype of how this invention might work…

Art on Money for Money

My latest art project is pulling in the money quite literally. I’m currently doing a series of pieces on dollar bills. Not only is this a fun art project to work on but so far I’ve sold almost half of the pieces I’ve created making this a brilliant hundred dollar idea, I’ve sold 5 of the 11 pieces I’ve created thus elevating my professional credentials as an artist. It’s rather exciting.
If you are interesting in purchasing one of the dollars from this series please contact me. Right now the 6 bills in the above photo are for sale. I will consider shipping although please understand, I’m horrible at shipping and also lose money and time when shipping. I would much rather you meet me when I’m out at some coffee shop or something.
